This private residence in the Aspen Mountains of Colorado, USA, enjoying the views of the natural grandeur of the mountains, was created by local design studio Hart Howerton.

Modern furniture fills the interior of the house, providing a textural contrast to the natural stone. The staircase looks like a stack of different layers, unique and interesting. The meandering handrails are illuminated by the top light, making the staircase look like a work of art being exhibited.

Large areas of glass are used as one of the main materials in the interior, allowing light to flow easily into the house, illuminating the whole house while providing the occupants with extensive views over the mountains.

Hart Howerton also designed a large outdoor patio for the home with an outdoor dining table for eating outdoors. A fire pit is surrounded by chairs, bringing warmth to the people who sit there to chat, party and entertain in winter.
