Jorge Suárez-Kilzi
Nature is to me the ultimate source of wisdom, followed by time. To feel that an object comes across as wise, is a powerful thing.
Jorge Suárez-Kilzi, a master of lighting and designer furniture, brings an unparalleled touch of design and craftsmanship to every piece in his collection. Born in Venezuela to immigrant parents of Spanish and Syrian descent, Jorge signs his works with his mother’s surname, Kilzi, as a tribute to his roots and to his mother. The name has a link to a hard childhood in movement, to an immigrant background, to Latin American and its vernacular arts, to a sense of movement and evolution.
Jorge’s journey is a testament to a life marked by movement and evolution, shaped by the vibrant cultural tapestry of Latin America and the artistic discipline of Japan. His architectural skills were honed in the prestigious offices of Sejima+Nishizawa Associated Architects (SANAA) and Junya Ishigami, where he absorbed the delicate balance between fluidity and structure.
In 2018, driven by a profound passion for design and a desire to create beyond conventional boundaries, Jorge became a freelance architect and artist. His work seamlessly blends architectural visualization with the tactile and intricate beauty of his furniture and lighting pieces.
Every piece in the Kilzi collection embodies the essence of simplicity and emotion. From lighting fixtures with strong character to other furniture objects with an elegant yet playful personality, each creation is a harmonious blend of fluid and refined silhouettes.
