Located in the ancient town of Hoi An, Vietnam, this courtyard villa was designed by local young architecture firm Lequang Architects. It is situated at the corner of the intersection of a small village surrounded by a typical agricultural landscape. The client, Ms. Giang, an environmental specialist, sees the house as a space that mixes the local green landscape. She also needs a space that is tranquil enough to meet her educational goals for her son, who needs certain conditions to grow up.
This house is not only a small house for four people to live in, it is also a place where the birds, the spiders, or insects find shelter in the foliage. The spaces on the ground floor of the house are first raised along with a large garden and then Lequang Architect spread it out in this garden. Their think it's functional groups set in a garden rather than a garden set in a house. Just like a language, it is an organization of discrete objects, when they standing side by side, they find their meaning.
