Casa DH is a minimalist residence located in Madrid, Spain, designed by Plantea Estudio. The house seeks to enhance the structural configuration of the original space. The three areas that remain between the facade and the first courtyard of the property are freed from the previous distribution, are left almost diaphanous and accommodate in this continuous place the entrance hall, the kitchen, the living room and a space for watching movies. 

Towards the back part of the house, the bedrooms and service areas are organized, open to the interior courtyards lined with mustard-colored lime mortar. A storage and laundry space separates the kitchen from the bedrooms. Next, there is a work and guest room with its own toilet, and towards the back, the two bedrooms. The master bedroom, with dressing room and ensuite toilet, is configured as a set of interrelated spaces, giving special importance to the shower and bath area, which is arranged next to the window, as a single place for water. 

The fundamental aspect of the project has been to try to balance the great value of the found with the proposal of the added. The character and language of the one and the other are clearly differentiated. Doors, windows and shutters, shelves, rosettes and existing moldings are rehabilitated, and painted a white slightly veered towards the earth color.   The floor of the entire house, with the exception of the wet areas of the toilets, is covered with a 30 cm wide Douglas pine floorboard, in its natural light reddish tone and with a matt varnish. 

These two components offer an abstract and classic background at the same time, which gathers and elevates the rest of the elements that complete the composition.  The fixed elements, such as the coral red marble sinks or the stainless and chestnut kitchen furniture, offer a timeless and serene complement to this background.
