Rob Mills Architecture and Interior Design firm and Paul Bangay are internationally renowned and have created a new project in a long-established site with striking original designs. Fawkner House is an exclusive collection of large prestigious single storey homes with stunning views overlooking Fawkner Park, destined to be a landmark in Melbourne's most respected area. It combines organic volumes, unique forms and diverse Spaces, resulting in a sense of openness when interacting with the streetscape.
A neighbourhood where elements work together. The elms, poplars and oaks line the pathways of Fawkner Park and tower over stately green expanses of lawn; a stroll will reveal Victorian shopfronts, Art Deco flats and Modernist buildings all lining the streets. Here the built environment is as beautiful as the natural environment, side by side. Ever grand, the Domain Precinct scene continues to age gracefully over time.
Rob Mills wanted people to be able to bring their own personality to the place and not be limited by a bossy or dominant sense of style. Whether contemporary sculpture or antique furniture, the interiors are designed to naturally showcase the art and design of local residents. The residences then become unquestionably unique in that they take tradition into account and are inspired by their surroundings, encapsulating a desire for space, light and landscape.
