The showroom of Danish designer Oliver Gustav is housed in a former art museum building still fitted with its original arched skylights and wooden floorboards.
Oliver Gustav is a creative consultant and designer who has a unique sense of time and space. He turned a historical museum in Copenhagen into his art studio where he brought serenity and aesthetic together. The way he designed Studio Oliver Gustav is not only reflects his style but also creates a timeless place since he uses both modern and antique pieces.
The 10-room building has been curated by Gustav himself as a place to display the work of designers he admires, including lighting fixtures by Apparatus, Japanese-inspired wooden furniture by Fritz Baumann and sculptural pieces by Vincenzo De Cotiis—as well as antiques chosen by Gustav to compliment these contemporary pieces. The dusky, naturally-lit rooms also feature the designer’s own line of hemp- and linen-upholstered sofas and armchairs.
