In Mexico, Tadao Ando's exposed concrete design has experienced a process from Japanese Zen style to integration with local architectural culture, changing the master's personal logo and incorporating more Mexican elements. This seaside art center is the witness of this process. It has witnessed the collision, precipitation and integration of culture and architectural art. It has grown as well as gained.

It is still the master's best concrete, but with palm leaves to accompany the lining, with local plants combined with the implicit artistic conception of the east, silent hiding the bare natural concrete structure. This is in line with the original aspiration of architecture, embracing the beauty of the earth, east, west, north and south, welcome friends from all over the world to display artworks, to exchange artistic ideas and ideas. The name of the building is quite intriguing. The awe of art makes people surrender to the depth of nature, and calmly face the defects that are beautiful.

The project is located between mountains, sea, water and clouds, with outstanding natural landscape, and can not escape the eyes of the master. Therefore, with the convenience of facing the Pacific Ocean, the concrete wall is directly erected along the long coastline to share the magnificent seaside with artificial construction force, and at the same time, it plays the role of dividing the north-south space of the building.

In addition, to contrast the rustic, exposed concrete, Mr. Ando took roofs of the local type and draped them with thick, dried palm leaves, a natural material common in Mexico, both to keep out the cold and rain, and to ensure natural ventilation. From the perspective of human visual experience, you can see the Mexican-style palm leaf roof up, and the geometric texture of fair-faced concrete walls and columns down.

The marble-and-granite floors, the local hardwood floors in Mexico, and the wooden shutters are the artistic feeling Ando wanted to convey to the onlookers, reflecting the beauty of nature amid the negation of what is and what is not, in keeping with the name of the art center.
