Tamarama House, in Sydney's eastern seaside suburb, is home to interior designer Tamsin Johnson and her husband Patrick Johnson. The 1970s House was completely redesigned by the couple. Located within easy reach of the city as well as on the dreamy coast, this tranquil house is a typical old house in the Tamarama area, with a simple skeleton and interior layout of many small rooms.
Tamsin and Patrick soon began to demolish and reconfigure the house, and the design involved converting six small rooms into a large space on the top floor for a more open layout. The renovation also required upgrading a series of small Windows into a large opening to receive the sea view, including double-folding steel doors that extend onto the terrace. When the renovation was complete, Tamsin used her interior design skills to transform the interior into a calm, refined space that felt like "an extension of the coastal environment." Their goal is to create a home that offers both warmth and togetherness in winter and freshness and peace in summer. You can definitely see the perfect balance here.
