Tatjana von Stein

Làlia

London-based designer, Tatjana von Stein, has transformed a historic townhouse in Palma into Mallorca's first ever private member's club, Làlia. Set in a cascading building, overlooking Placa de Santa Eulalia, Làlia is a place with craftsmanship, integrity and unique interpretations of local materiality at its heart.

Spanning four levels, and with a myriad of eclectic rooms to explore, Làlia offers members a space for both work and play. Set in its elegant surroundings, guests can enjoy access to a boutique gym, private art spaces, a sleek bar, an ongoing program of interactive events, as well as the highest quality local, seasonal dishes.

As they move between spaces, guests are greeted with moments of pared-back elegance, juxtaposed by playful surprises including leopard print floors and checkerboard ceilings.   A full-scale Interior Architecture project, Làlia’s interiors were thoughtfully renovated by von Stein’s studio over a period of two years. Architectural direction of the restorations and alignment with old town criteria, was skillfully led by renowned local architects, Gras Reynès Arquitectos, who paid close attention to the building’s heritage;   salvaging and repurposing features and fittings wherever they could, including tiles, carpentry, and fireplaces.

For Làlia, von Stein brought together a community of Mallorca-based creatives to hand-craft almost every detail found within its walls. From bespoke fitted furniture to the ceramics on display, creations celebrate local, Spanish materials while lovingly-sourced vintage finds from Dusty Deco and Lasanta&Co, peppered throughout the club, bring the glamorous, Mallorquin palatial history to life.
