At the foot of Panshan Mountain in Jizhou, Tianjin, there is a thousand year old ancient temple called Dule Temple in a green valley. Amidst the reverberations of the temple bell, the "Luolan" of the Shanye Hotel has already appeared before my eyes.

Dule Temple originated in the Tang Dynasty and flourished in the Song and Liao Dynasties. The architectural master Liang Sicheng once wrote an article titled "Research on the Guanyin Pavilion Mountain Gate of Dule Temple in Jixian County", calling it the "supreme national treasure".

The beauty of Dule Temple's vicissitudes has led to the birth of "Luolan". The Eastern Zen philosophy has profoundly influenced the aesthetics of wabi sabi. Now, once again exploring "Wabi Sabi" from its origin and delving deeper into regional cultural connotations, its perspective is the beginning of the construction of "Luolan".

"Luolan" was inspired by the ancient architecture of Dule Temple. The tenon and mortise structure and interpenetrating shape of the temple's arch of wooden architecture became the inspiration. A large number of arcs were used in the architecture, forming space tension and visual memory. The pavilion in the courtyard is built with the same architectural concept, and its unique shape not only intertwines with Dule Temple, but also resembles a sculpture.

The exterior material of the building is washed stone, combined with artistic paint with a yellow clay texture, as if it grows naturally from the surface, echoing the locality and creating a deep connection with the surrounding environment. The combination of stone texture and earth color, as well as the stacking of circular arches and block structures, creates a relaxed wabi sabi aesthetic with a strong Eastern Zen atmosphere.

The walls and floors of the indoor space are made of a large amount of stone. The combination of fireplace and stone, the collision of black floor and beige wall, brings a serene Zen atmosphere, making the heart instantly quiet. Time and space meet and linger here. Old elm wood furniture, cotton and linen sofas, leather hunting chairs, the furniture has a retro flavor in nature, highlighting the atmosphere of the mountains and wilderness. Under unintentional lighting, the color gamut and materials are all within reach, simple and pure.

The early summer wind blows, casting a pool of shimmering waves on the lush mountains and swaying tree shadows. The sunshine falls, and I smell a wisp of fragrance on the plants and trees. Play with the pool water and seek the joy of life. Beside the french window is a large transparent bathtub. Secretly hiding your body in the water for an excellent viewing experience. In the sunset, each window frame is a unique mountain landscape painting, with groups of white butterflies carrying freedom and joy.

The night came unconsciously. Surrounded by the fireplace, pour a glass of whiskey. Amidst the swirling smoke, listening to the crackling sound of firewood clears one's mind. Alternatively, let the bonfire light up the night in the valley, chat happily with friends, feel the sky and mountains in the starlight and firelight, and return to the peace of the soul.
