Z_Lab, an interior design studio based in Seoul, South Korea, was founded in 2014 to create an emotional space that is based on place and space communication and reflects individual desires and wills. The studio is good at striking a balance between individual aspirations and regional universality in terms of design and regional identity. They created a new experience through Spaces and personalized lifestyle brands.
Z_Lab hopes to provide a new experience for more people that transcends geographical boundaries and is spatially based. One of their projects, Jeju Lodge, is an old mountain Lodge on the slopes of Mount Halla amid the lush Jeju virgin forest. This space, where you can relax just by looking out the window, is designed for tea ceremony and meditation with a calm atmosphere.
It is a space focused on quiet relaxation where guests can experience the fog and dense forest of Mount Halla. The studio uses natural materials from Jeju such as basalt, cedar, and soil, as well as rough and textured roofing materials to blend in with the surrounding forest.
