Beyond the dazzling radiance of materials, the water and sky together form another national image for South Africa. This country, with nearly 3000 kilometers of coastline, outlines the external contours of the southernmost part of the African continent under the ebb and flow of nature's tides. The historically rooted colonial culture, amidst the process of modernization, interweaves with the rich coastal landscapes to create a unique socio-cultural texture and regional landscape appearance.
Nadine Gordimer once said, "Identity is not only constructed but is shaped in reliance on some kind of 'other.'" Certainly, with the evolution of time, the 'other' also has the potential for role transformation. In South Africa, luxury homes are not just a manifestation of "identity"; rather, they represent a self-appropriate response, evolution, and harmonious integration based on the contextual environment in the modern context.
As YINJISPACE’s second study tour to South Africa, from June 9 to June 15, 2024, the 7-day and 6-night itinerary will delve into the legislative capital of South Africa, Cape Town. The focus will be on the globally renowned luxury architecture firm, SAOTA, exploring various fields such as architecture, interior design, furnishings, and art. The trip aims to break through the boundaries of singular disciplines, establishing a more comprehensive and practical logical design system.
