Burromoscow designed the Terekovo station on the Great Circle line of the Moscow metro. The Great Ring Line is the core project of the metro network development in The Russian capital. At 71 km, with 31 stations, it is the longest loop in the world. It will remove the radiating subway lines, saving passengers up to 30 minutes per trip and bringing convenient public transport to remote parts of Moscow.
The Moscow metro is a very special public space, a place to stay; A place for romantic dates; A network of underground palaces. The design of the Terekovo station is reminiscent of the historic interior of the Moscow metro. It has many classic details: flute, caisson, colonnade all in modern minimalist interpretation. Abstract silhouettes of ordinary people are printed on the pillars, like the heroes of the subway past: workers, farmers and scientists.
The most important part of the project was to create a space filled with air and light. The use of fiberglass concrete provides a solution, giving the interior a sense of integrity and plasticity. The reflected and diffused light on its surface expands the space visually. The elegant round chandelier was designed specifically for the station.
The entrance pavilion is designed as a high entrance, with a 16m-high entrance visible from a distance. The reflection of the famous red letter "M" illuminates the entrance, marking the entrance to the Brave New World of the Moscow Metro's Grand Circle.
