WGNB has completed Juun.J, a coffee shop and clothing store in Seoul, South Korea. Black is the main color of Juun.J. And the most beautiful shadow in the invisible being is also black. The entire structure is absorbed into the deep and wide shadows created by the awning. The darkness under the canopy is the shadow of space and the black of space.
In an attempt to transform black into space, the studio organized the space by hanging a large number of objects or separating them and creating shadows. Except for the white part of the women's dress on the ground floor, all Spaces are made up of darkness of varying densities. While the ground floor contrasts with some of the white parts, clothes here also hang in the dark.
Due to the dramatic infiltration of natural light from the ceiling, the cafe space produces a variety of darkness. The eaves extend forward like an awning, allowing visitors to feel the natural light reflected from the garden. They can see the garden from within the space and find another shadow, a tree floating in the garden.
The shape of the building is composed of circles, quadrangles and triangles, which is the basic form of all design. The concept of architectural design is the dark matter in the universe. In particular, the garden-shaped circle, which is a space that attracts natural light, plays an important role in contrasting dark matter.
