Armadale Residence is one of Flack Studio's most recent residential projects in Melbourne. The house has a deep and rich texture within the constraints of colour. The dichotomy of darkness and light, delicate and robust, makes it all its own: brave, honest and intelligent. You will find yourself in a temple of absolute peace. The design encourages people to return to a slower, quieter life and immerse themselves in rich sensory experiences.
The owners of the house prefer to work in areas with limited hues, so everything to the eye is carefully selected. Here, a bold and playful visual sense can be brought to the eye by the bold herringbone wood and the soft geometry that fills the floor.
Everywhere, hand-machined brass clamps, trim and fittings show the incredible granular scale designed by Flack Studio. At the same time, the use of coloured American oak joinery throughout the home helped to reunify the various Spaces into one harmonious design scheme.
Streamlined, confident and relaxed throughout all elements, whether in a stylish rectilinear kitchen or throughout a carefully curated palette of furniture, reflect a well thought out lifestyle.
In many ways, the sense of harmony in Armadale house offers a remedy for the excesses of its occupants in daily life. This is a house that is at once careless and exquisitely detailed; A house that is both discreet and vibrant. It seems to proclaim the supremacy of serene contemplation, rejecting noisy activity.
