Enoura Observatory

The Enoura Observatory is located in Eura District, Odawara City, Japan, with the steep Hakone Wairin Mountain as its back and facing Sagami Bay. The observatory consists of a 100-meter-long summer solstice promenade, a 70-meter-long winter solstice tunnel, a stone platform, an optical glass platform, the "Ame-Kaiten" tea room, the Mingyue Gate and other functional spaces.

The orientation of the structures in the observatory is closely aligned with the light. The summer Solstice corridor runs east-west, the great valley stone wall is erected on the south side to avoid direct sunlight, and the winter Solstice tunnel runs east-west to the water. When the sun rises from the sea, the light can pass through the tunnel.

In addition, stones from the Hayakawa Ishimachi Site are placed in the garden, which are arranged in combination with the surface texture of the stones to add a simple texture.
