Nina Maya Interiors

Rose Bay Residence

Interiors Houses Sydney 2018-09-11

Australian interior designer Nina Maya has been honing her craft for over 10 years and is therefore passionate about precisely tailored Spaces. When asked about the ingredients to her alchemy, Maya cites “Purity of materials, unexpected elements, and custom designed details..”. It’s just this aesthetic that has garnered Maya accolades across her native Australia, and the international community is fast taking note.

Just 7 Kilometers east of Sydney’s central business district in the harbor-side suburb of Rose Bay, lies one of Maya’s most recent interiors – a residence that balances city sleek with the perfect dose of coastal detail. Upon entry to the main living room guests are met with a wall of plantation shutters filtering the Australian light and providing a beachy yet tailored touch. As for the furniture, Maya chose a series of eclectic furniture.

The controlled geometry of the furnishings, is a wall hanging by Oliver Tanner and a crisp fireplace / built-in unit comprised of warm brown stone and coordinating wood storage. The end result feels a little French, a little Australian, and a little coastal – a true jewel box of a space that’s as unapologetic in its artful precision as it is appealing in its unique brand of eclecticism.
