This is a project located in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, China. The owners are a couple of artistic and literary young people who like to read, write, listen to songs and raise flowers; they are fans of Shijiazhuang Wanqing and have a lot of Wanqing's concert posters in their home.
We designed a quiet, healing home with customised walnut panels to match their artistic temperament in a special period setting.
Stepping inside, Wan Qing's posters are on display, giving the space a period story. Display cabinets show the owner's record and book collections to the outside world. The floor-to-ceiling windows bring the view from outside into the interior, with a wide and comfortable view, and the natural light is light and bright. The combination of colour, texture, light and shadow of walnut creates a space of peace and tranquillity.
