Tomas Taveira is a Portuguese architect born in 1938. He holds a degree in architecture from the Technical University of Lisbon and a graduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). He has many famous designs, which are often used in television and film.
Tomás Taveira's designs are characterised by a richness of colour that is similar to that of a famous architect, with harmonious contrasts of colour making his work stand out from its neighbours and become a visual centrepiece.
The patchwork of colours is often reminiscent of the designs of countries such as Spain or India, where local traditions and the environment have led to a more passionate pursuit of colour. Each colour corresponds to a state of mind or season, and when all the colours are combined together they create a spark and a sense of drama.
