Clients approached Zoé Wolker with a specific request. They had emigrated to a new country, and the concept of home was quite blurred for them. More than anything, they wanted the transition to their new life to be smooth and, if possible, calm. They specifically said, "Please make it warm, cosy, safe, and feel like home," and completely trusted my vision.
Creating a teleportation effect through interior design is no easy task. But Zoé believes they managed to get as close as possible to what they aimed to achieve. It all started with a portrait of the composer Tchaikovsky, which was placed in the main living room above the fireplace. It became the central compositional accent of the entire space and a musical note in the ambiance prevailing in this home. The music of Pyotr Ilyich is known worldwide, and in this family, the children are growing up with his works.
Roughly plastered walls, avoiding pure white colour, textured fabrics and surfaces, lots of wood, and Portuguese colour spots in terracotta, nude, and sea tones. Special attention was given to details that tell the story of the space and reflect the owners' tastes. This interior is about warm light, hedonism, and details, about a new life with familiar traditions.
