Yun Pangyo is an eyewear store designed by Korean designer BY SEOG BE SEOG. The relay race analogy aptly describes the 'Yun Pangyo' project's evolution, akin to passing the baton from one runner to another. Drawing inspiration from nature and Korean minimalism, this project inherits its core concepts from preceding designs by 'Labotory' and 'Yun Seongsu,' embodying balance and minimalism. The challenge lies in integrating these concepts seamlessly into the design scene, akin to runners feeling the tension at the starting line, eager to execute flawlessly.
Symmetrically running facades of 'Yun Pangyo' reflect traditional Korean walls, which symbolize the harmonious relationship between interior and exterior spaces. These walls serve not only as boundaries but also as frames that modify perspectives, fostering subtle communication between inside and outside. By incorporating three walls of varying forms and sizes, the design creates an immersive experience for customers, capturing the essence of 'Yun' identity.
In embracing 'naturalness,' the project diverges from traditional spectacle retail spaces, opting for a subdued ambiance that integrates seamlessly into everyday life. Despite its recent introduction to the Korean market in 2020, 'Yun' embodies a brand philosophy focused on simplicity and longevity. As 'Yun' continues to accumulate experiences and refine its values, the project aims to contribute to this journey, aspiring to be a brand synonymous with enduring quality and authenticity.
