Patricia Bustos Studio is an interior design Studio based in Madrid, Spain, founded by its founders in 2015. The studio was founded with a very clear mission to create something unique and innovative, always with creativity and beauty as the design criteria to add value.
Unabashedly steeped in candy-coloured sumptuousness and dreamy iridescence with a touch of bubbly effervescence, “Wonder Galaxy”, as its name suggests, is a fantastical space conceived by Madrid-based Patricia Bustos Studio as a retro-futuristic bridge between the creative energies of childhood and an avant-garde vision of the future.
The project is part of Casa Decor, the most popular interior design event in Madrid this year, a platform for new trends in interior design that centers on remaking a particular building, with each room remade by a different designer.
In this year’s edition, which took place from January 24 to March 10 in a 1930s mansion in the upscale neighbourhood of Salamanca, Patricia Bustos’ “Futuristic Childhood Revival” was conceived as the mansion’s dressing room. But this isn’t any old dressing room but one suitable for a superheroine of the future, a glimpse of whom can be found centre-stage above the bathtub in the form of Thunder Face, a lightning bolt-shaped portrait of model Ronja Okane by Mexican illustrator Paul Fuentes.
Asymmetrical arches and volumes give a sense of infinite depth and expand the space to achieve perfect balance. The gradient of color suggests endless parallelism and utopian reality. The best thing you can do in your dreams is to have no limits. Dreamlike colors and soap bubbles mixed with unusual materials such as rainbow colors or roofing fabrics create an atmosphere that takes people to another galaxy and helps everyone imagine new horizons where they can realize their dreams and be themselves.
