Baja California Sur
Nestled atop the rugged southern coastal mountains of Baja California Sur, this two-story home offers breathtaking views of the Sea of Cortez, redefining the concept of indoor-outdoor living. Crafted by Ponce de León Barragán Arquitectos and RN Interior Design, the project seamlessly integrates with its surroundings, blending contemporary design with the natural desert landscape.
Designed for both tranquility and social gatherings, the home features concealed sliding doors that link bedrooms, balconies, and terraces, creating a transformative effect. With an open layout and scenic views from every angle, the space adapts effortlessly from intimate retreat to grand entertainment venue. The architecture emphasizes horizontal planes and floating ramps, enhancing the sense of lightness and connection with the environment.
Materials such as regional quarry stones, reclaimed teak, and warm wood tones echo the desert surroundings, while lush vegetation and reflective ponds add depth and serenity. Inspired by the coastal principles of Luis Barragán, the design invites visitors to pause and experience transitional spaces, creating moments of reflection amidst the grandeur of the landscape. From the impressive infinity pool to the enclosed courtyards, every detail is meticulously crafted to evoke a sense of calm and relaxation.
