Marrow Project
Marrow Project is an evolving design project, which emerged out of their dialogues around the object world alongside a desire to probe, play and think with the poetics of functionality.
Savvy Studio is a design and branding practice founded by Mexican designer Rafael Prieto, and based in New York and Mexico City. The studio's core practice is based on research and exploration of culture – inspired by art and materiality – creating each project in a deeply contemplative manner.
Savvy Studio's work is driven by empathy, creating pieces that feel just right, and that's the best gift a piece of work can offer: making them feel good. Their designs and ideas are universal, eclectic, non-conformist and conscientious. Committed to combining intimacy and spontaneity with edginess and high standards.
Designed by Savvy Studio, Marrow is an evolving design project, which emerged out of their dialogues around the object world alongside a desire to probe, Play and think with the poetics of functionality. It is a workshop for metamorphosis, visual riffs and translations of form across timescales, inhabiting “design” as a threshold practice, where objects without use become scored, in various ways, in an aesthetics of activation. Light sculptures made in hand-stretched fabric over shaped steel, each of which uniquely references and rescales bone fragments—residue lovingly collected from dinner parties—like anatomy for illumination.
