Founded in 2017 by Guan Cong and Song Jiuzhi, TO Design is located in Nanjing, Jiangsu province. It is dedicated to space design in fashion, catering, exhibition halls and private houses. We are thinking about the multi-dimensional representation of design, so that the expression of inspiration can break through the limits, and be born with an open attitude and the integration of space. Through the logical design language of the space of light, scale, color for the essence of thinking, to give the work with the possibility of temperature.Yinji: Young designers are the mainstay of design in the circle. How did you start your design path? What do you want for your future?
Song: I like to get in touch with things about beauty. Because I like it, I will be more focused in the process of study and work. No specific setting for the future, different stages can have different levels of harvest and improvement is good.

Yinji: Although Nanjing is the ancient capital of six dynasties, its design is very young and has gathered a group of energetic young designers. What do you think about the future of design in Nanjing?
Song: Nanjing is more inclusive and happy. Living in this city will feel comfortable and relaxed, with a leisurely pace of life, so that people will have time to think and return to zero. There are many good designer friends around, they use their own way to speak for nanjing design, because young so there will be more possibilities.

Yinji: In the era of information globalization, young designers have more access to information. Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Song: Inspiration comes more from the everyday accumulation of life and the reading of good things. Design is the rational expression after sensibility, combing methods and logic, so as to better solve the problems in the design process.

Yinji: Who are your favorite design masters? How did he influence your design?
Song: Modernist architects such as Cobb, Kahn, Siza and Ando can be deeply moved in their works. From the human scale and behavior, to understand the spatial light material and structure.。

Yinji: We noticed that your work promotes minimalism. What do you think of minimalism?
Song: Express the core content of space in the simplest design language and form. What we pursue is to be simple, to create a natural and comfortable space atmosphere, so that the body and mind can relax as much as possible.
