A Tranquil Preserve
Solitude is the most important part of spiritual development.
A pure space that emphasizes the exploration of one's innermost being is a space for the homeowner, who wanted to be free from the exhaustion of life, have a refreshing mental break, and be able to spend time in solitude and meditation. We wanted the space to be open, with warm materials and sunlight.
By creating a free-flowing spatial layout through the entrance hall, the space of the Chase Apartment, which was originally clear at first glance, became very interesting. The small corner window on the entry wall not only provides a view of the living room, but also directs light into the entrance. The high ceiling of the entrance space also solves the problem of the low height of the entrance hall and the second floor landing.
The entire space is free of any pictures, and the large gray and white tones make the space very clean, free and calm. The warm wood injects a natural, rustic atmosphere into the space. People can perceive the space, light and shadow, nature and age in the space.
