This Baja California wellness retreat, by the owner and designer Jasmine Scalesciani-Hawken, who is half Italian half Argentinian. Elevated yet raw, this sanctuary, inspired by Jasmine's childhood in the Italian island of Sardinia, harmonizes beautiful design, health, and relaxation. 

Nestled near the beach and surrounded by a medicinal herb farm, it offers lots of private reading and relaxing nooks for self-reflection and inspiration. Crafted from local stone, wood, and onyx, the retreat seamlessly integrates with nature, reflecting Jasmine's dedicated two-year effort to restore the land. “When I first found this land, I spent two years regenerating the soil and planting trees before ever building or growing anything on it,” says Jasmine.

Called Nua Nakūi, the property is located in El Pescadero, Baja California Sur, Mexico. It is situated on the Pacific Ocean side – 1 hour north of San Jose Del Cabo and 10 minutes south of the small and charming town of Todos Santos. Used for private fasting and Ayurvedic retreats of 1-4 people, the residence sits on an 8-acre / 3.2 hectare herb farm rich in mango trees, a few steps from the beach at the foot of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountain range. Nua Nakūi is the first project of several Wellness Residences to come designed by Jasmine Scalesciani-Hawken who is already looking at new places in Italy and South America.

The architectural style is born out of impressions and experiences Jasmine collected throughout her travels and the places where she lived. She grew up between Milan and Sardegna (Italy), Punta Del Este (Uruguay) and Buenos Aires (Argentina). “I was influenced by different styles of architecture, but the common thread was a feeling of freedom and a way of life that is relaxed, a little wild yet considered.”
