The owners of the Garden House found the Simone Haag studio via a mutual friend/client. They knew they wanted an earthiness and a warmth with their furniture selections, to compliment the Architecture by Austin Maynard Architects, but they were living in a remote part of Australia during the early stages of the project with no access to product.
The concept stage of the project was conducted by a series of FIFO meetings . Throughout those meetings the Simone Haag team gleaned a greater insight into the clients’ preference for sustainable design and their love of Indigenous art.The Simone Haag team enjoyed the collaborative process with not only AMA but also with Eckerly Garden Architecture. The process has resulted in a residence that strikes the balance between aspirational and approachable. Its tone on tone approach in the living room bears a resemblance to the desert town the family once called home.
