Dutch designer Anne Holtrop talks about her work with an artist's sensibility, drawing form from existing or completely random conditions. There were more artists than architects in his influence, and his first works were temporary buildings, each set in a museum. The blurred line between art and architecture is one That Holtrop has crossed all his life.
Anne Holtrop pays more attention to the architecture itself in his design. For him, he does not like concrete or conceptual works. On the design level, in order not to make the design too complicated, it is given a specific role, when walking through the building, you realize that it is a whole. This is why it is crucial to make aspects of work independent of its function, because there are things that cannot be rationally explained, so emotions must be invested.
The Customs House Bahrain designed by Anne Holtrop has simple colors, different from other Customs buildings, it has no luxurious decoration. The cleanest white is used both inside and outside the building. Although it does not have too much decoration, it is deeply impressed by the texture created by the materials used in the building and its unique shape.
