Framework Studio is a full-service interior design and concept design Studio based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, dedicated to creating the city's iconic interiors for restaurants, retail Spaces, offices and private homes. The studio was founded by Thomas Geerlings in 2007, and since then the design and management team has steadily developed and become more and more specialized. It is now managed by Thomas Geerlings, Maarten ter Stege and Sascha Faase.

Yinji：What is Framework's design philosophy ? Has Framework's design philosophy changed since its establishment?
Framework: Design makesnormal every day things noticable. Sometimes beautiful, sometimes questionable, but far most, design makes difference. In a world dominated by the opinion on social media and platforms, the trends tend to be more and more global, in stead of locally bound. This globalisation of taste has pro’s and con’s. On one hand it deepens out a trend /design direction fast, on the other hand it gets borring fast.In a world were we are speking about life long design, globalisation and ‘the surch of the next big thing’can be conflicting.We does net tend to take part in the ratrace. Our designs are locally bound. We are not limited by trend or design signature of the studio, we can look backward and forward, we can kill our darlings or love them for ever. The object, the client, the geographical location, those are the main starting points for our designs, thats why i think design for us is interesting.

Yinji：What do you think of "minimalism"?
Framework: Minimalism is a term, that does not represent our work. We design rich detailled projects, that look simpel. I dont like to be put in a box or a corner. We can look at every project in a new way and try to make abridge in time and with the object and the clients wishes.

Yinji：When you start a new project, how do you generally do it?
Framework: We start with our framework of geographical location, the object and the client wishes Thats how we start，Our frame work.

Yinji：How do you get design inspiration?
Framework:I am inspired by traveling, going to museums, doing sports, and perceiving life!

Yinji：What are your expectations and plans for the development  of your studio?
Framework：We will develop. We have amazing partners from all nationalities, all with their own background and we love to talk and discus. In the end we are a staff driven office, not a single man show.
