Designed by Brittny Button and decorator Tanya Stone, the newly renovated Spanish Revival home makes for an idyllic retreat. Brittny and Jenson Button spent a weekend in Palm Springs and immediately found the people, scenery and architecture incredible, so they are looking forward to owning a home there.
While their main home is still in Bel Air, Palm Springs provided them with a necessary escape from city life. Jenson likes to go out to the backyard and have a drink by the pool, where he can look up at what could be described as otherworldly mountains. Because they don't live here all the time, they are shocked every time they come back. It was the place that held them together more than any place they had ever been.
While Jenson took a backseat, his wife seized the reins of the redesign process. Throughout the overhaul, she found herself gravitating toward design as a profession. She like digging through things and finding the unexpected…I like objects that show real craftsmanship. But to really make the home fit their vision, the couple knew they needed out branch out. So Brittny reached out to the same moms on social media, hoping to find an interior designer, and eventually made a new friend.
While Brittny’s vision materialized in the architectural scheme of the renovated interiors, Stone helped refine the space with recommendations on materials and lighting. They worked on the home during the pandemic, which caused a lot of delays. But in a way, it allowed them to really slow down, talk through the process and really get to know each other. Brittny has a keen understanding of balancing textures and styles which really impressed Tanya Stone.
