London Office

As The trend for telecommuting continues, Fathom Architects has designed an office for real Estate group The Crown Estate at 6 Babmaes Street in London, a new concept for social and flexible working Spaces designed to respond to The changing office landscape in central London. Create new social and shared work Spaces and reclaim existing vacant buildings to create shared facilities to support local businesses and their employees. Considering that not all activities can be effectively done at home, the building mainly provides a space for colleagues to gather or meet clients.

The project is an imaginative renovation of an abandoned 1970s building to create a separate social space that serves as a relaxing environment for activities, collaboration, socializing and welfare activities. Fathom Architects, incorporating the client's vision into the smallest details. They understood that Babmaes needed not only beautiful design, but also a focus on sustainability.

The original concrete shell of the existing building will be combined with a carefully crafted interior to create a distinctive space offering a variety of Spaces for people to connect and recharge. Inspired by local heritage as well as 1970s art and furniture, the design combines the use of carpets, paintings and murals to draw, geometric shapes and bold colors.

The project is spread over four levels, with meeting rooms, work Spaces and lounge areas, as well as areas that can be used for activities or wellness activities. Each floor is slightly different in response to the specific use of each space. However, throughout the interior, referencing the era in which the building was built, namely the 1970s, there is a retro feel to it. Warm colors are paired with tactile materials to create a more comfortable aesthetic than traditional offices.
