Flack Studio's Sandy Bay Residence in Hobart, Tasmania recreates the feel of the 1970s when commercial housing was built to create a fun and functional family home. "Our original design concept was to create a family home that would transcend all of life's special moments," said the studio's founders.
David Flack says they always focus on existing buildings in all their projects. Because the building that has time feeling is to have individual character characteristic, to contemporary family, create the home that advances with The Times, have history classics again at the same time, this is the confirmation that belongs to span times!
The client wanted the home to be a memory for a lifetime and for the children to feel comfortable when they grow up. All the things that they chose to place here are timeless, they are not precious finished products, all the furniture, all the fixtures, they are close to life.
David Flack explains that all the finishes chosen for the project were popular in the 1970s. The terrazzo that uses indoors is quite popular in 70 time, the use of detail of stone wall, brick, have the use of the copper that handmade custom-made, brass, affixed individual character to this home.
