Harry Morgan is an emerging artist based in Manchester, UK. He work is known for its unusual use of materials and experimental approach to traditional processes. Harry Morgan’s approach to making fluctuates between the use of intuition, geometry and material expression. He is work inverts the rules of gravity and creates objects that are completely counterintuitive.     

Referencing histories from ancient Venetian glassblowing to Brutalist architecture, Harry Morgan’s work challenges the physical and cultural meaning of his chosen medium. His monumental sculptures are the result of painstaking experimentation. He uses traditional studio and industrial processes in order to position materials such as concrete and glass in such a way as to question the fragility of glass. Glass reflects ambiguity and intangibility. In sharp contrast, concrete is brutally physical. His works establish a powerful relationship between the two contrasting materials as they merge to become one form.

Since graduating from Edinburgh College of Art in 2014, Morgan has exhibited widely throughout the UK and internationally. He has won several awards including the Award for Emerging Talent at the 2015 British Glass Biennale and a Graduate Craft Award. His work is also held in the permanent collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum, London and European Museum of Modern Glass in Coburg, Germany.
