The spacious Schulstrasse 17 Store concept Store for technical goods and innovative and entrepreneurial products is driven by a minimalist aesthetic. The overall idea for VAUST Studio was to maintain some of the natural appearance of the building site and use it in combination with eclectic materials to avoid any form of traditional decoration.
The given building is stripped down to the bone to provide a fantastic canvas to work on. A warm rice-hued original ceiling dominates the space and is echoed by concrete walls, an interesting hierarchical arrangement and the Windows of the shop as a small gallery. Two huge columns are the centrepiece of the space, and the gravel pool is displayed around them, providing a good reason.
The stylish and bold stainless steel side display provides maximum freedom for the display of related products. Finally, all the objects are displayed on soft reflective materials to emphasize their importance and value. Another highlight is a two-part display that runs through the space, highlighting the store's scale.
The concept of stainless steel furniture breaks up the rough architecture and is supported by a large number of custom-made artificial boulders as art objects, calming the atmosphere. The result is a concept of being combined with the future, creating ambience by fusing high-tech and low-tech senses.
