Alireza Razavi, born in Iran in 1970, is a distinguished interior designer who studied architecture at Columbia University in New York. In 2008, he founded his own Studio, Studio Razavi, in Paris and New York.Alireza Razavi was invited by Yinjispace to hold the first open class in China on April 26 (Tuesday) at 20.00pm with the theme of "Architecture by Choice".

Alireza Razavi's works are warm and show a variety of styles. They are open to any factor of expression and background culture and keep experimenting. Early collaborations included Eisenman Architects, Agrest & Gandelsonas, Shigeru Ban Architects, Francois de Menil Architects and Fcl-Happold New York Senior Project Manager. Alireza Razavi is a member of the American institute of architects and has been selected as the AD100 best designer for 4 consecutive years.

Alireza Razavi's designs combine architectural culture with Spaces that everyone understands, they are not limited by style and aim to convey a unique design language. Razavi believes that the selection of materials that reach the senses is the basis of shaping the space. Combining different architectural cultures, the emotion is materialized, and the space is endowed with temperature, so that people can resonate with the design.

Yinji：How would you summarize your design philosophy in one paragraph?
Alireza：For me, my design revolves around people and culture. At the beginning of the project, I will conduct an in-depth communication with my clients to understand what is most important to them, and I will draw inspiration from the communication. Culture is formed from local geography and history, so it is very important to have an in-depth understanding of the geography and culture of a region before starting a project. Listening to the culture based on the understanding is the key to the project.

Yinji：You have design projects in many countries. What do you think are the similarities and differences between design in different countries?
Alireza：The biggest difference lies in the construction process and level, the architect should know the difference between each country, we should first understand the building built by who, need to understand their technological level, to what kind of complexity, whether our design can be present perfectly, and communicate our design intent.

Yinji：Paris is a romantic country of art. How do you view the relationship between art and design?
Alireza：For me, art is very important. Art can express our thoughts, sensibility and rationality, and convey our pleasure. So art is pure, it has no owner, it is completely spontaneous, it can take us out of the bondage of reality for a while, which often brings inspiration to my design.
