AT Design in Hangzhou was founded in early 2014, always adhere to the "heterogeneous cultural symbiosis, people and technology symbiotic, symbiosis, inside and outside of the symbiosis" of man and nature the core idea of design for the company development, positioning for the Chinese young creative design, symbiotic thought system and ecological design, to create pleasant comfortable experience space.Yinji: Young designers are the mainstay of design in the circle. How did you start your design path? What do you want for your future?
Shen: In the design profession ten years later, suddenly have some own thinking, about why I do the design or what I want through the design, when has passed in order to survive and work stages, or not to blindly chase from material comparing, feel quiet do design and also more enjoy thinking about some things, design work is busy and multifarious, hope to design different surprise and to bring customers happy around him feel comfortable experience space. So there are some pieces of design that we want, various attempts to interact symbiotically with nature. Our future will be according to your own heart, to find that a different and interesting place, oneself to like, then there will be a group of people like us, hope the design profession, quiet and enjoy, find and share in the long process, each stage is diverse, can bring some different feelings is the best wishes.
Yinji: I really appreciate the unique temperament of Hangzhou designers. They can generally feel the imprint of feelings in their works. Does the local environment in Hangzhou influence your design to some extent?
Shen: Hangzhou is a very good city, where the modern and the traditional, the natural and the urban, all blend together very well. Hangzhou design is also rich in local aura, with the southern Song elegant. The ideas we advocate, local and international, modern and natural, symbiosis, all have a certain influence. However, we hope that with the nourishment of this land and the help of the industry, we will also make some different and better designs to bring more rich content to this city, so that the city will also be more attractive.
Yinji: AT Design has done a lot of homestay design, which has been widely recognized in the industry. Is homestay your main direction now? What about the future?
Shen: home is just a part of our project, we don't have framed scope for design, we only accord with our architectural space, we have a lot of projects, including the home stay facility, hotel, residential, office, commercial space, buildings, etc., because release our home stay facility project, because of commercial projects we publish for clients, is helpful for their business, the scope of our design does not limit or no frame, is an open and diverse. There will be lots of fun and interesting experiments in the future.
Yinji: What's the biggest difference between the hotel design and the business hotel design? How do you think of the standardization and difference of homestay?
Shen: home stay facility design is important to consumption and the environment, and the characteristics of local hotel is a small and interesting experience, business hotel is a function of a meet accommodation environment, he is more pay attention to household environment, or comfort and luxury, etc., to live and sleep, then price or comprehensive. Home stay in the foundation that pays attention to live is to want a few taller experience to give a client, otherwise client won't run far away to village mountain. The function and quality of home stay can be standardized, and the design needs differentiation. Without differentiation, there will be no fresh experience, and maybe no desire to take photos or go. In modern society, there is no shortage of places to live and sleep. It is very important to have a place where you can sleep and love something different. B&b is just a general concept. We call it a small wild luxury hotel.
Yinji: I noticed that you're working on the star House. Can you share your special feelings about it?
Shen: our clients to be engaged in many industries, we can also according to the clients with the analysis of each industry, and then design the most appropriate solutions, also hope that our design can bring different experiences, from work contact to become the friend, our communication is very good, we as professional design, or do a good job in their own professional characteristics, just can have a lot of attractions.
