A home in Hampton, Virginia, designed by local designer David Scott. David Scott teamed up with architect Blaze Makoid to create a weekend resort that is simultaneously elegant, expressive and serene.

The intense geometry of the building is softened by the introduction of warm natural materials. The afrormosia wood ‘boxes’ gradually mellow to a deep, rich hue and are enhanced by incorporating organic elements and texture throughout indoor and outdoor spaces. Retro and custom-made modern furniture by contemporary masters contrasts hand-woven floors covered in silk, mohair and wool and a vibrant art collection.
