As part of the expansive Hudson Yards development, Frampton Co was invited by Related Companies to design a model residential suite within the firm’s new tower. With the goal of expressing a personal, modern and eclectic way of living in the new construction, the curated space utilizes art as a focal point to balance the striking city and river views. A smoke photograph by Irby Pace features prominently in the living room, its visual impact maximized by the design decision to layer the work with wallpaper; an unconventional choice. Strategic use of pattern and an unabashed use of color distills the design to its essence.
Frampton Co.'s work is characterized by a commitment to the relevance of design to everyday life and the connection of humans to the spaces they inhabit. Combining a unique aesthetic sensibility with methodical realization, attentive client collaboration brings a unique experience to each project. In Elena Frampton's creative direction, work is marked by a balanced atmosphere, sculptural work, meticulous craftsmanship, a comfortable palette and unexpected effects. Using the client as design inspiration, the aesthetic vision is turned into a joyful functional reality.
