This inviting yet refined home in Long Island, New York, which is a haven for a family of four who values tranquility. While the house features a minimalist style, it also reflects the homeowners’love for entertaining and cooking, making it an ideal space for children, extended family, and friends—just 85 miles (140 km) from the vibrant heart of the Big Apple.
With a design featuring a light and warm color palette, it combines whites, ivory, soft grays and blues with black accents, along with natural stone and wood to harmonize with its surroundings. Jennifer and David have been looking for the perfect home to accommodate their children, extended family and friends as they like to entertain. Cooking is a big part of their social life which extends to celebrity chefs in residence on several occasions.
White, ivory, blues, soft grays and matte black accents sprinkled throughout. They are derived from the homeowners’ favorite colors, proximity to the water and surroundings. The interior designer wanted to draw in external elements. In this light-filled home, the palette is restrained yet warm, luxurious and approachable, easy for the homeowners to add art as time goes by.
